3 Strategies of Chanakya that Entrepreneurs can use for Business Growth!
A lot has been written about the innovative management trends and business strategies combined with technology-driven teaching tools in the 21st century that promotes business growth. However, our ancestors have left behind a wealth of knowledge that can be a crucial source to understand human behavior, economics, justice, law, commerce, and even more today.
One such
personality who redefined the political era in the 4th century was
the Indian statesman and philosopher- Chanakya. Chanakya who was also known as
Kautilya was the chief advisor and Prime Minister of the Indian Emperor
Chandragupta- the first ruler of the Mauryan Empire in ancient India.
Chanakya was a
Hindu statesman and philosopher who wrote a classic political treatise
Artha-shastra. He was also the founder of the Mauryan Empire. Though there are
many instances in his life that can inspire anyone, we will be talking about
this one particular incident that transformed the entire kingdom of Magadh. Chanakya
and Chandragupta wanted to defeat the powerful king Dhana Nand of Magadh. So they
pull off a surprise attack directly on Magadh itself. However, they were
defeated by the powerful army of Magadh and had to run away to be spared.
While on his
return journey, Chanakya overheard a mother scolding her child as he burnt
himself with hot food served in the platter to him. She was explaining to her
kid, “don`t start eating from the center of the rice heap which has hot curry
poured over it. It is hot in the center; you will end up burning your fingers
just like Chandragupta and Chanakya did. Start eating from the circumference
and then reach the center.
That instance
guided Chanakya to devise a brilliant strategy. He along with Chandragupta then
left Magadh and raised a huge army. They traveled to the outskirts of the Nanda
kingdom and started defeating and capturing the regions of the Nanda Kingdom
from outside. With each win, they gained huge success and with the same
momentum, they attacked Magadh that resulted in Dhana Nand`s defeat.
Chanakya is
considered to be the Machiavelli of India in terms of wit, diplomatic tactics,
and advice. It was his guidance and advice that led the great King Maurya to
control India tactfully.
Here are three
